MODRIC: COUNTER ATTACK STYLE WRECKED JUVE

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric opines that it was their counter attacking style that helped them wreck Juve in the final of the Champions League.


Juve were expected to put up a stronger performance that they did at the final in Cardiff.

The game was hard fought and balance in the first half. However the second half was the game changer as Real ran off as eventual winners.

“[Zinedine] Zidane found the weak point of the Bianconeri defence, and we prepared for the final all week with that in mind. The Juve defenders are fantastic when they’re in position, but not if you catch them on the counter attack,” Modric said.

The player added that unlocking the defence helped them score three goals out of the four in the final. He gave Zidane the credit for the magic that rattled the opposition’s defence, ending in Real Madrid’s third Champions League title in four years. Keep Reading

Luka Modric has no intentions of leaving Real Madrid anytime soon

It was back on August of 2012 when Luka Modric joined Real Madrid and signed a 5 year long deal with the Spanish club.


From there on out, Modric has done on to become one of the most influential players in the entire squad and he has embarked on a very successful career as the Croatian midfielder has lifted some of the most prestigious pieces of silverware in the world of football including: The UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup, just to name a few.

Luka Modric spent 4 seasons performing with Tottenham Hotspur but he failed to win any major trophy but with Real Madrid, things have quickly changed and the Croatian is clearly enjoying his time in the Santiago Bernabeu as Modric has extended his contract until June of 2020 and he has recently stated that he wants to continue performing for Real Madrid even beyond what his contract has established. BENZEMA GOAL SEALS MADRID’S UCL LAST-16 SPOT

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema scored a late winner to ensure they got to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League in the game against Sporting CP on Tuesday.

Luka Modric A Key Player

In the match that Croatia had against Portugal in Euro 2016 Luka Modric as well as Mario Mandzukic were hopefuls on whom the team depended upon for performing against their opponent.


Luka is considered to be one of the key players of Croatia and he as well as Mario trained well for the game in round 16 when they were up against Portugal. However, the reason that the players had to focus on their training was because both players were recovering from injuries. The coach has stated that he had doubts whether Luka and Mario were in shape to play the game for the entire 90 minutes. He had stated this a day before the match. He stated that both players appeared to be in good shape. Luka and Mario had been injured during the game that Croatia played against Czech Republic which had ended with a draw of 2-2.

Modric had suffered muscle injuries that were the playmaker in the game. He was unable to play the match in the final group stage, which resulted in a win against Spain. The return of the two players was crucial for the match against Portugal. It was a point when the country was looking at progressing up the ranks in the tournament.
