Modric didnt flop, if it wasnt for him and bale were wold have tottenham have been, modric is regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world. wilshere is still just one of the many poential talents out there along with hazard, neymar, lucas moura, pato and so on… You cant say youve seen wilshere do things modric cant simply because theyre different styles of play. Ive never seen messi do 5 stepovers and shoot from 40 yards but hes still the best.

Ive seen stuff from wilshere modric could never do, dribbling past players like they are not there, scoring with the outside of his foot from the edge of the penalty box, flicking the ball over multiple players. You should just accept this, wilshere is a far bigger talent than modric, modric is above average player, wilshere has the potential to be a GREAT player. Who was in the pfa team of the year last season? wilshere. Who flopped in the champions league? modric

whoever says that the age doesn’t matter … ill say he only had one season then he got injured for the whole season … so you cant judge him right now ..we already know he’s great talent but still cant compare him with other players who toke their time .sorry 4 my bad english

Ozil makes Modric look like a dumb ass.

The title of this is “Who’s stronger?” And there’s no way Modric is stronger than Wilshere. They’re both good players, but I’d rather have Wilshere in my club definitely.

Wilshere and Modric are both deep lying playmakers. wilshere an enforcer? he can tackle yes, but that doesn’t mean hes an enforcer, he can play as a box-tobox midfielder or a deep lying playmaker.

they are not even the same player, wilshere is an enforcer and modric is a playmaker. parker to wilshere is a more fair comparison

Also…look at how poorly made the video is of Modric, this vid has clearly been made by an Arsenal fan lol (not that we should judge players from youtube clips anyway).

Type this into the search ”Luka Modric 2011 HD The Maestro” that’s the sort of things Modric is really capable of…then after watching that come back and tell me you’ve seen Wilshere do things like that with the ball.

Modric is a far more developed player than Wilshere.

tbh i’m never sure about players signed from the championship like walcott and people judged walcott long before he even touched the field in the epl. bare in mind that walcott’s main goal was to be a 100 meter sprinter and started taking football seriously later than most players. and i agree wilshere could get worse and it’s impossible to compare players when one has an advantage of experience to the other. so let’s agree that this argument can only be inconclusive.

I agree. Will everyone stop pointing out the fact that Jack is 19 as if it means he will automatically get 2x better each year. He could, but we won’t know until it happens will we? The Fact is that progress is not guaranteed. Also, old age should not count against how you evaluate a player’s quality, if it did, then guys like Scholes, Pirlo, Seedorf, Zanetti, Giggs, Davies, Nesta etc… wouldn’t see any time on the pitch

Well yes I’m comparing them both now as that’s what we’re supposed to be doing? I highly doubt you was watching Modric at 19 years old either. And you have to remember that’s all Wilshere is, a ”prospect” he might get worse?

John Bostock a few years back was supposed to be a huge ”prospect” and ”the next big thing” what’s he doing now? Theo Walcott was supposed to be the next Figo, but it didn’t quite happen, and lets remember Walcott was more highly rated then than Bale.

by a long shot?…i don’t think there’s much difference between the two…the dge to me with respects to both their ages 19 vs 26 prospect vs prime and i mean prospect in the broader sense because wilshere is indispensable for arsenal’s first team. and on top of that composure…with reference to the way wilshere at 19 could be playing the way he does against the likes of barcelona and chelsea among other big clubs. the edge for me goes to wilshere and not by that much though

your comparing a 19 year old to a 26 year old…a player still developing to a player in his prime…wilshere can only get better…modric might not get much better. to me wilshere who’s better as of now is up for debate but with respects to both their ages…i would give my vote to wilshere

Wilshere is a fantastic player, but I believe most neutrals (including Prem Managers) would most likely choose Modric over him if given the choice between the two. Modric is pure class. but they have different styles/roles so it is tough to say who is better, really depends what you want in midfield.Overall, it is not about comparing individuals, but how the players fit in and how the team as a whole performs. At the moment Spurs have good chemistry and it has shown in their current position.
