Real Madrid along with Barcelona and Athletic Madrid are currently located in the top spots of the Spanish League, this is something that is not surprising as those 3 clubs have traditionally been the leaders of Spain as the ones that are considered as the best teams of that league.
Even though Real Madrid is competing for the top spot of La Liga, they have recently been hit with a number of injuries with a few key players sustaining injuries that have and will be keeping them out of the playing grounds for some time.
Marcelo, Casemiro, James Rodriguez, Fabio Coentrao and Luka Modric are all of the more recognized and influential players in Real Madrid that have recently picked up injuries.
Luka Modric underwent a knee surgery in early October and he is expected to stay out of the field for around 1 month which is a huge blow for ZinedineZidane as the Frenchman has been utilizing the services of Modric as one of his main players in the midfield along with Toni Kroos and they both played a huge role in the UEFA Champions League success of the previous season.
When the operation was successfully completed, Luka Modric gave an update to his fans and his teammates giving details about how everything went through as he wrote on his instagram account:
‘’Thanks to the doctors Leyes and Aramberriu, as well as the medical staff and the club Real Madrid for their good care. The rehabilitation team will try their best to get me back on the field as quickly as possible. Thanks to my teammates and all those who have sent me messages of support.Hala Madrid and forza Croatia’’
Gareth Bale and other prominent figures of Real Madrid have signed contract extensions that will be keeping them at the Santiago Bernabeu at least until 2022 and Luka Modric is also expected to sign a contract renewal.
