MODRIC: MADRID WILL FIGHT FOR EVERY TROPHY NEXT SEASON

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has revealed that the Los Blancos will be prepared to fight for every available title next season after the Spanish La Liga giants failed to win a single silverware in the just-concluded football season. The Zinedine Zidane-led Madrid team came just one point short of winning the La Liga title on the last day of the season and lost the trophy to local rivals Atletico Madrid, thanks to the heroics of star striker Luis Suarez.

The club also managed to go as far as the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League this season and crashed out of the competition after losing to English Premier League club Chelsea over the two legs of the tie. Having also lost the Spanish Cup to Barcelona, it meant that they would have to finish the season without any single title for the first time in a long time.

And Modric has now revealed the plans he and the club have for the coming campaign. Speaking to the club’s official website, the Croatian international midfielder revealed that it was a strange and tough season because of how many players had to suffer several injury issues. He said the injury crises at the club really affected the entire team and it brought them to their knees tactically because most of the players that were out injured for one time or another were their key players.

He added that they will now be eager to forget about this season and move swiftly to set their objectives properly ahead of the new season. He also said that they will be more careful this new season in their quest to avoid as many injuries that they suffered so that they can focus on having a great season and fighting to win the major titles available to them.
